Designet af organisationer har været en vedvarende bekymring i ledelsesteori og praksis i de seneste årtier. I denne periode har der været lidt ændring i den fundamentale teori, principper og begreber af Organisation Design (OD). For nylig har organisatorisk liv ændret sig dramatisk med fremkomsten af: nye kommunikationssystemer, tilpasningsmekanismer, informationsteknologi, videnstyringssystemer, innovationsprocesser og mere. Denne bog undersøger systematisk disse udviklinger og deres indvirkning på OD med bidrag fra førende forskere på området.

De individuelle kapitler er organiseret i fem sektioner:

  1. Placering af Contingency Theory,
  2. Fokus på de individer, der udgør organisationen,
  3. Innovationsprocesser og organisation design,
  4. Tilpasning og teknologi, og
  5. Design for performance.
